When we purchased Foothills Homestead the builders hydro-seeded the yard then left it there without water for two weeks. Nice, right? We started watering when we moved in but only spots of grass really grew.
We know it’s going to take some time to get our lawn/yard established. We’re prepared for that. We’re prepared to water, over-seed, etc for a couple of years.
But the clay….we weren’t prepared for.
We built some awesome movable sprinklers to help with the watering. We can only run two at a time with our water pressure and it’s working pretty good so far. This weekend we re-seeded the yard and put a few bales of hay over the front yard to give it some coverage and moisture retention.
Clay continues to be a big problem but we’re hoping with a little luck and some love we’ll get at least some type of lawn established before the winter hits.
