After moving into this house everything that didn’t have a home went into the garage. All the lawn equipment went into the garage. All the power tools and supplies went into the garage. Do you see a pattern here?
At our house in the city we had a one car garage and it came with some amazing storage shelves and cabinets. Since this was a brand new home, it came with walls….and that’s about it. However it was double the size and would fit two cars.
At some point we’ll have a workshop for the tools, woodworking equipment and lawn mower. We’ll also have a potting shed that will house all the gardening tools and supplies. However until then we are using the garage to store all of our equipment.
And it’s getting tight.
Recently we build a floating wall mounted storage cabinet to hold our camping equipment, mason jars, and other odds and ends. The project took just a few hours to complete and wasn’t too complex. It was a two person job lifting it up onto the wall.
Here’s the finished cabinet. We’re planning to add doors to it in the future to keep everything cleaner but that will come later. Right now, we’re just happy to have some space in the garage to work!
